semana clásica de puerto sherry 2012
A special edition of this new regatta, an experience for all the participants, to be able to leave the Mediterranean, in one of the best regatta courses in the world, and as such it was enjoyed by both participants and public.
It was the first regatta of the 15 metre class as such, and it was a success for everyone, on the one hand the possibility of sailing in real time with the other sister boats, and on the other hand it was the seed of the union of the crews of all the members of the class, something that they have been demonstrating in all the regattas in which they have participated during the season.
It all began with a pre-race challenge between the Hispania and the Tuiga, in which the latter managed to win in this mythical confrontation between these two sister units by design, construction and first owners, and which continue to maintain the rivalry and fraternity that they demonstrated at the beginning of the 20th century.
The regatta began on Wednesday 25th July with a day of light winds in which Mariska managed to assert its conditions and win over The Lady Anne, Tuiga and Hispania. The following day the second race was held with The Lady Anne winning from start to finish, followed by Mariska who, after an intense fight during the last downwind leg between Tuiga and Hispania, managed to take advantage of this dispute to take second place in the day's standings. On the third day, after an intense and competitive race, Tuiga managed to win after The Lady Anne, Hispania and Mariska. On the last day, The Lady Anne, Mariska and Tuiga had a chance to win, ending the day with the victory of Tuiga, followed by The Lady Anne, Mariska and Hispania.
The first race of the 15 Metre International class culminated in victory for The Lady Anne, followed by Tuiga, Mariska and Hispania.
