Memorial Pedro Bores
Central event in the “Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry, this classic vessel regatta will have more than 30 legend vessels that will offer a great show to racers and spectators. The Cádiz Bay will refresh the ancient sailing spirit an the original nautical traditions.
There will be different classes racing in this regatta with the two Challengers, Hispania and The Lady Anne like ‘Giraldilla’ (1963), which first owner was D. Juan de Borbón (King Juan Carlos I Father), the ‘Isla Ebusitana’ (1856) or ‘Sadko’, 18th Century Schooner replica.
This Race takes the over name of “Memorial Pedro Bores” in honor of the president of Puerto Sherry and patron of the Isla Ebusitana foundation who died a few years ago.
The “Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry” born out of the dream of Pedro Bores on organize a great event, in this unique environment of the Bay of Cádiz to gather together the most important classic vessels and to enable sailing enthusiasts can relive the experiences of the pioneers in this type of navigation.
Fan of the Bay of Cádiz and sailing was, with Joaquin Rivero, the driving force of the reborn of Puerto Sherry and craftsman of making Puerto Sherry reference of classic sailing.
