- A month after their celebration Puerto Sherry is working on the preparations for receiving the fleet.

El Pto de Sta María, june, 26th.- Just a month remaining until Puerto Sherry is hosting a fleet with most traditional and prestigious in the world of sailing with holding between 22 and 27 July, the II Semana Clasica de Puerto Sherry Spanish Classic Sailing Cup, Pedro Bores Memorial, for the Monaco Challenge, held this weekend marked the beginning of the countdown.
Monaco’s appointment marks the beginning of the annual calendar of International Class 15 meters, and she attended the four units that belong to the class including Hispania, owned by the Isla Ebusitana Foundation established in Puerto Sherry. During the two days of competition the wind was low and only allowed the realization of two races, both led by Mariska who knew how to take advantage of its lower weight and the consequent advantage with light winds to prevail in the general classification. The second step of the podium was occupied by Tuiga that, for the occasion, wore an impressive Yankee sail that helped him take full advantage of the existing low pressure, Hispania being in charge of closing the positions of honor. Puerto Sherry and the Semana Clasica is the next waypoint of 15M, which subsequently completed his calendar with the Portofino Rolex Trophy and Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
The goal is, now, the Semana Clasica de Puerto Sherry, opened for 15 meters International Class, Vintage, Classic, Spirit of Tradition, Classic and Big Boats ORC. For this, the organization us working on the preparations of the acts in a week, with a clear dominance of the fleet, the magic of the main marina of the Bay of Cadiz will look in all its splendor.
As in the previous edition, the Semana Clasica de Puerto Sherry is a sporting event that breaks barriers showing the excellence of the Bay of Cadiz and its facilities, leaded by Puerto Sherry, a fact that does not go unnoticed as the territorial delegate Development and Tourism in Cádiz, Manuel Cardenas emphasized: “This event adds to the abundant tourism that exists in the Bay of Cadiz and its environment, assuming a major national and international tourist attraction.”
To do this, the organization is run by Puerto Sherry, the Isla Ebusitana Foundation and the Club de Mar Puerto Sherry, in collaboration with the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation under the patronage of Marina El Puerto de Santa María, the Department of Development and Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, Mitsubishi Motors, Repsol, Osborne and Kapote.
